Meningitis Vaccine Available Again at UHS
Central Michigan University Health Services (UHS) has received a new
shipment of meningitis vaccine (Menactra™). The vaccine is available
in the Primary Care Suite of University Health Services, Foust 202,
Monday-Friday, 8:30 -11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m. An appointment is
not required. There is a $102 charge for the vaccine, but payment is
not required on the date of service. We bill insurances. (For
students who are uninsured or have insurance that does not cover
meningitis vaccine, the Central Michigan District Health Department
may have the vaccine available for a modest administration fee for
students who present proof that they qualify. Call 773-5921 for
additional information.) The vaccine is strongly recommended for
entering freshmen living in the residence halls and for any student
who wants to avoid the rare but serious, rapidly progressive, and
sometimes fatal disease. For additional information, call 774-6591.
