 Why?

Each year 5 to 20% of the population gets the flu.

Annually more than 200,000 people are hospitalized for complications of influenza. It is a miserable and serious illness that claims more than 36,000 lives each year in the United States.

Receiving the flu vaccine reduces your risk of getting the disease and the complications, sometimes fatal, that can develop.

You can protect yourself and limit the spread of the Illness to those around you by getting an annual flu shot.

For additional information, visit:
www.cdc.gov/flu.

 How?

You can walk in during the posted hours. An appointment is not required.

There is convenient reserved parking at the signs in Lot 29. Foust is located on Preston near East Campus Drive.

For your safety, you will be asked to wait for 20 minutes after your flu shot to observe for any adverse reaction to the vaccine.

You do not have to pay on the date of service unless you prefer to do so by cash, check, money order, Master Card, Visa, Discover Card, or bank debit card in our Business Office, Foust 108.

Charges can be placed on your personal CMU account, but payroll deduction is not available.

Please note: None of the current CMU health insurance plans cover influenza vaccine at this time.

If you are a member of a plan that covers flu vaccine and with which University Health Services participates (e.g., Medicare, CMU & MMCC Student Health Insurance), we will bill the insurance company if you present proof of current coverage and sign an authorization permitting us to do so. Itemized statements suitable for submission to health insurance plans for reimbursement are available upon request from our Business Office, Foust 108.
