Why?
|
Each year 5 to 20% of the
population gets the flu.
Annually more than 200,000 people are
hospitalized for complications of influenza. It is a miserable
and serious illness that claims more than 36,000 lives each year
in the United States.
Receiving the flu
vaccine reduces your risk of getting the disease and the
complications, sometimes fatal, that can develop.
You can
protect yourself and limit the spread of the Illness to those
around you by getting an annual flu
shot.

How?
|
You can walk in during the
posted hours. An appointment is not required.
There is convenient reserved parking at the signs
in Lot 29. Foust is located on Preston near East Campus Drive.
For your safety, you will be asked to wait for 20 minutes after your flu shot to
observe for any adverse reaction to the vaccine.
You do not have to pay on the date of service unless you prefer to do so
by cash, check, money order, Master Card, Visa, Discover Card, or
bank debit card in our Business Office, Foust 108.
Charges can be placed on your personal CMU account, but payroll
deduction is not available.
Please note: None of the current CMU health insurance plans cover
influenza vaccine at this time.
If you are a member of a plan that covers flu vaccine and with which
University Health Services participates (e.g., Medicare, CMU & MMCC
Student Health Insurance), we will bill the insurance company if you
present proof of current coverage and sign an authorization permitting
us to do so. Itemized statements suitable for submission to health
insurance plans for reimbursement are available upon request from our
Business Office, Foust 108. |
